A few months ago we decided to take the plunge and build our very own ecommerce theme. Anyone familiar with our work lately will not be surprised to hear that the ecommerce platform that we have selected for our theme is LemonStand - the best online store system on the market, bar none.
So after beavering away for months we are finally very proud to say that the totally awesome Citrus Store theme has now been released into the wild and is available on the LemonStand Marketplace - https://lemonstand.com/marketplace/theme/citrus-store/

And what's so good about it I hear you ask. Well it's like this: we've built a lot of online… more
Responsive web design (often abbreviated to RWD) is a new way of building web sites whereby the site is crafted to provide the best possible experience across a wide range of devices including desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones. It has become really important because of the phenomenal rise in internet use on mobile devices. It is predicted that in the very near future the majority of internet browsing will be done on a smart phone or tablet.
Before responsive web design came along there were two options available for dealing with the problem of viewing/using websites on different devices. Option one was to not worry about the mobile device using viewers and simply build website for a desktop sized monitor and rely on smaller devices to scale the site to make it usable.… more
We're very pleased to announce the launch of the new website for Rivercity Solutions.
This was a great project that we worked on in collaboration with Scarborough based firm Ideas Unltd. What we particularly liked was that from the project outset the client stated that they wanted something different, they wanted to break out of the traditional IT services website. This was music to our ears.

Ideas Unltd were entrusted with the branding and overall design of the site and they came up trumps with a fantastic, up to date, unique style. Our job was to develop the designs into a responsive website that would be easy for the client to… more

It's been a truly marvellous year behind the BA Creative doors, and we'd like to thank you for your support through this past year.
The BA factory will be closed on the 24th December, we’ll be back on the 2nd January – stuffed, bleary-eyed and ready for another year of creative fun.
We looking forward to catching up 2013!
Best Wishes,
Pete, Rosie, Ian & Laura
Sydney based Prophecy have asked us to give their marketing materials and website a make-over. We need to provide punchier content, better SEO performance and an all round impovement in Prophecy's look.
Look out for the results coming soon to www.prophecymodelling.com very soon.
moreIf it is true that you are only as good as your last design, then we'll be very happy to be judged by this site, the latest to roll out of the BA factory doors.
In many ways this has been a dream job - design focused brief, cutting edge development and a wonderful client. We are particularly pleased with how we have brought together a fantastic content management system (Expression Engine) with a nifty online store (Expresso) and wrapped it up in a fantastic device responsive design.
Our aim from the start was to create the best beauty salon website in Australia - check it out at www.brazilianbeauty.com.au and let us know if you think we've succeeded.

We're extremely proud to say that the new Absolutely Fabulous online store has been launched and is open for business. We've been working with Peta and the team at Absofab for a number of years, helping them creating their first website, then their first blog and now a full online store. We'd like to say a big thank you for choosing BA Creative for this great project, we've really enjoyed it.

The design of the store was heavily influenced by the brand identity of Absolutely Fabulous, we built on the retro chic idea and used a strict colour palette. The result looks great, especially now the online store is full of such wonderful, photogenic… more
Following on from the Australian Modern launch and Photo shoot posts I thought I'd show our back page ad in full.
To keep with the classic theme of the publication and the, dare I say it, Mad Men-esque style of the photography we came up with a layout and copy style that hopefully captures the mid-century feel.
We're really happy with the way it has turned out and we're getting great feedback. Hopefully we'll get an increase in sales too - we might even be able to afford that Gaggia machine!

We thought it was about time that we all went up to see the guys at the Sunshine Coast Solar Centre in their new swanky building. We wanted to say hi, see how everything was going and check out the new signage that we designed. As soon as we turned the corner and saw the building in front of us we were really impressed with how it all looked - very sharp.

As well as the signage, we were also really pleased to see the end result of the newspaper ads that we had designed. Mike and Brian reported very positive feedback and a good hike in enquiries.
To round of the morning we dropped in on Toscani's Maroochydore… more
It's out. Australian Modern is now available from all good bookshops. And what a lovely publication it is, full of great articles and beautifully put together.
We're very proud to be connected to this projected having designed the website (www.australianmodern.com.au) and provided the back page ad.

Clients that fall into that category are Montrachet, Chris Hall Photography, Absolutely Fabulous and Watpac—they're all famous and proudly Brissie.

Elite Bathware can be added to that category too. For years now the Elite showroom on Stanley Street has been a mecca for renovators, architects and interior designers looking to create the finest bathrooms. But until recently they didn't have a website, well not a real website anyway.
So we were very pleased to have been approached by the lovely people at Elite to create the online representation of what is a mightily impressive business. Daunted? Us? No, this is the sort of work we love.
… moreAfter our photo shoot with Hayley Photography, we waited (not so patiently) for the results. When they arrived we flicked through the hundreds of images, enjoying the priceless facial expressions we all pulled during the session.
After viewing the photos, it was clear. The 200 photos had to be made into a stop-motion clip to the Benny Hill theme, of course.

Things have been buzzing in the BA office for the last few weeks! We've been extra busy gearing up to launch our new website and rebranding.
Recently, we were offered the advertising space on the back cover of Australian Modern - A magazine about Mid 20th Century Design. What a great opportunity to launch our new branding and design vision with a splash!
The concept
When we first began to draft concepts, we had many hilarious and outrageous ideas - none of which were an accurate representation of BA Creative. Luckily, Pete (our fearless leader and self professed lover of classic cars and classic style), introduced us… more
We put a lot of thought into our designs, so we thought we'd share some of the thinking behind how we approach our work.
We are real people, with real experience. We understand motivations, passion and that thing which makes us human; emotion. People are the driving force behind a project and people are at the center of the purpose of design. We design for people.
We are observers and participants in business, technology, the arts and design culture. This includes our deep appreciation of the diverse and social community that is the web. We’re in tune with the ‘zeitgeist’ and the ebb and flow of trend, memes and style, because it matters that we are able to understand and connect with audiences.
It's a classic conundrum. You've just got a smashing new website, designed to pixel perfection and you don't want to ruin it by uploading images that are too big, too small, too dark, too light or otherwise. If you are needing simple re-colouration, resizing or cropping, the online version of Adobe Photoshop Express is a fantastic solution!
Adobe Photoshop Express Editor is a free online tool that offers a number of simple and handy tools, without the expense and stress of using a full version of Photoshop.

For quick colour adjustments, the Auto Correct tool… more
As well as sponsoring the Holland Park under 9s (more on that coming soon) BA Creative has installed eye catching, football themed advertising at the ground.
We went for a retro look incorporating a classic quote by the god-like football manager Brian Clough:
"I'm not saying we're the best, but we're definitely in the top one!"

I think this may have confused some of people who have never heard of Cloughie or think we're being outrageously arrogant—but it does attract attention.

What do you… more
